LinkedIn has a new feature that could make it easier for job seekers to get a foot in the door.
They’ve introduced a button that allows you to ask for referrals from your connections on LinkedIn so that you won’t have to send the awkward “Hi Codedsteve, I don’t know if you remember me…” emails again.
How it works is pretty simple!
Just find the job you’re applying for.
Beneath the job listing, you should see a “Ask for a referral” button. Click on it and LinkedIn will bring up all the people you are connected to that also work at the company. You can then select which of your connections you’d like to request a referral from and also take advantage of LinkedIn’s templates to build your message.
The feature has rolled out globally and you should be able to see it.
